Roads and bridges
A journey from Ningbo to Taixing passes through the Hangzhou Bay, Jiaxing, Jiashan, Suzhou, Wuxi, and Jiangyin.
The emission from the chemical plants in north Ningbo, south Jiaxing , and Jiashan severely pollutes the air of the Yangtze delta area! (It's sunny day but note the colour of the sky; economic development has a hugh cost to pay in the mainland)
Hangzhou Bay Bridge (35 km long (the airport express line in HK is about 34 km); a spectacular construction viewing from the air but there is nothing really interesting to see on both sides of the bridge)
Wuxi section
Jiangyin Bridge: bridging up the southern and northern parts of China; Yangtze River runs down below
Jiangyin is the richest place in the whole China (in terms of average income?); the driver also mentioned that the place shown below is called "Jesus City" ???
The scenery is quiet different after the bridge and Subei is an under developed area just outside the Yangtze delta area.
