I think the Chinese lyrics is not wrong indeed. In my memory, the plots should be like that

The background - 星仔was born in a rich family. Due to a conflict of the family members for the control of family wealth, the baby boy was kidnapped and then adopted by a lady. Such description is very short and provided at the very beginning of the first episode.
The lady was poor and her husband left her alone. So, she mothered 星仔 and raised him up on her own. That's why 星仔 wanted to find his father at the first few episodes. I think that is the written basis for the Chinese lyrics.
One day, her husband came back and intended to sell out 星仔 so as to improve his economic conditions. Then老金, a former famous opera singer appeared and saved 星仔...
星仔wanted to find out his own identity and meet his mother during the long journey but in vile. Although he met his mother and younger brother several times and became very good friends, they didn't know each other until the last few episodes. BTW, the ending is a good ending. 星仔finally found his mother and brother and became a successful lawyer. His best friend in the second half of the story became a well-known musician.

其實從小時候開始已經懷疑歌詞是不是作錯了?「我要我要找我爸爸......去到.......勸佢回家。」但後來睇番VCD,先發覺歌詞原來這幾句是根據第1集裏的意景和旁白所講的來寫。當時星仔8年來未曾見過自己的爸爸,照旁白所說(日文),星仔很想去找自己的爸爸,並叫他回家。所以歌詞並沒有錯。不過作詞的人不夠細心,這只不過是故事的開端,並不是重心所在,所以這首歌雖然感人,但達不到故事的中心所在。星仔後來是想找回親生媽媽的,所以,歌詞如果改為我要我要找我媽媽.......就會比較貼切了。
